The Sergeant Escapers (1974) By John Dominy
Most escape literature has been about how mainly RAF officers escaped from various POW camps. This book helps to address the balance by detailing the escape organisations and escapes of the NCO RAF POWs. They were less regarded than the officers and did not have their privileges either. In spite of that, they managed to get more of their escapers home than did the officers; and even managed to set up their own series of safe houses.
Given that their camps were adjacent to that of the officers you will find some of the exploits here are also highlighted in 'Jimmy James' Moonless Night'.
