Private Ernest Harvey: Miniature Gallipoli Bear
Produced to commemorate the Centenary of Gallipoli in 2015. The bear is dressed in khaki tunic, trousers, puttees and slouch hat. Webbing holds a water canteen, bayonet and helve, the handle for an entrenching tool. The uniform and webbing equipment represent the standard uniform worn by members of the Australian Imperial Forces (AIF) landing at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. The colour patch on the tunic is that of the 10th Battalion (South Australia), part of the 4000 strong 3rd Infantry Brigade which were the first Australian troops to land at Anzac Cove. The bear has been given the name ‘Private Ernest Harvey’.
