Hazañas Bélicas #79 Deber y amistad (1960)
Hazañas bélicas (Heroic Deeds of War)
Spanish war series created by Guillermo Sánchez Boix (Boixcar). The first series of these weeklies ran from 1948 - 1949.
Hazañas Bélicas was a Spanish series of war comics created by Boixcar in 1948 and developed by him and other Spanish artists for Ediciones Toray. The “Boixcar” style made it one of the most famous series of Iberian comics, often republished.
For this series, the first issues contained three ordinary issues of the original collection each (skipping the extraordinary issues) on an interior pagination of 48 pages. Subsequently, starting with issue 62, the pagination was reduced to 32 pages and newly created comics were published.
The cover of this collection consisted of an illustration by Boixcar, with two horizontal bands of blue color and, on the left, a soldier of the American army drawn by Jordi Longarón which has since become the brand image of Hazañas Bélicas.
There was a reissue of the first issues (up to number 56), in which some covers were changed and the abbreviation VOL was substituted in the numbering by the words EXTRA or EXTRA NUMBER, (as had already been done in the first edition). This reissue coincided with the time when Toray began distributing the collection in Argentina (hence the price in pesos also indicated), the start of the reissue could therefore be dated to the end of 1960 or the beginning of 1961.
