Die Wurttembergisch-Badische 215. Infanterie-Division 1936-1945 (2004) By Zonrad Zeller, Hans Mehrle, Theodor Glauner

This photo documentation depicts the long and sacrificial, yet always brave, path of a German infantry division through the Second World War. There are photos from the division's early days, from its formation and initial deployment on the Upper Rhine and at Zweibrücken. Images of the West Wall from the spring of 1940 and gripping shots of the breakthrough through the Maginot Line, all the way to Paris in the summer of 1941. Then, the transport to the East. The division was thrown into combat south of Tikhvin, and the photos from these days are extremely vivid, as are the images of the winter battle on the Volkhov River, the mud period, and the fighting on the Leningrad encirclement. The book depicts, better than words can, the course of the difficult war years and the fate of the men of the 215th Infantry Division, which is linked to the division. It recounts the victories, the hard battles and sacrifices, the defeat, and the bitter road to captivity – a volume of high documentary value.
